FAQs
Q: Can Signature Real Estate provide me with a list of customer references? A: Absolutely. References are available for your review upon request at any of Signature’s Model Homes.
Q: When it comes time to close on my house, how much money should I expect to pay? A: Depending on the sale price of your house, your down payment and the fees connected with the purchase of your home will vary. Typically, your closing costs and escrow items will include title and mortgage insurance, prepaid taxes, attorney fees, etc.
Q: Now that I am interested in a Signature home, what are my next steps? A: Your next step is as easy as calling a Signature Realtor associated with the community in which you’d like to purchase a home. To view all Signature communities, visit our "Homes for Sale" section.
Q: What additional options do I have once my floor plan has been selected? A: Signature homes provide a wide range of options that will allow you to add those personal touches that make a home all your own. You will make your structural selections at the time of your contract, as some items such as room extensions, fireplaces, and ceiling vaults will affect your foundation. Color and interior selections including, but not limited to, flooring and cabinets will be made shortly after your structural selections. A Signature Realtor will be there throughout the entire selections process to assist you.
Q: Which selection should be made first – a home model or a lot? A: Normally, the home model that you prefer should be selected first, and then you can move onto which lot you feel most comfortable with. Each Signature community offers different models and it is key to know which model you want and then find a lot that fits that model best. However, if the lot is more important to you than the home model, you can feel free to progress in that order.
Q: Where can I find more information about the materials Signature uses when building a home? A: The Signatures Realtors for each community will be able to give you information on building materials.
Q: How do I choose a lot? A: Lifestyle is a key factor to consider when selecting a lot. Do you enjoy the outdoors? You many want to consider a larger lot with an expansive yard. Do you enjoy a low maintenance lifestyle without the need to care for a yard? Perhaps a smaller lot would better suit you. Your Signature Realtor will be available to assist you in selecting just the right lot for your needs.
Q: How quickly can I move into a Signature community? A: Depending on the schedule and timing of your particular home and home site, the process can take anywhere from 1 month to a year before you are able to move in. Your Signature Realtor will be ideally suited to answer this question for you in regards to your selected Signature community.
Q: I would like additional information about the home building industry in general. Where should I look for this information? A: There are many industry resources readily available for your review. A reputable third party source for valuable information regarding the homebuilding industry is the National Association of Homebuilders. Independent organizations such as Professional Builder Magazine and JD Power and Associates also offer a myriad of information. Based on reviews of hundreds of new residents, both resources rank the reputation of builders nationwide.
Q: What should I bring to closing? A: The key items to bring to your closing include valid picture identification, proof of homeowners’ insurance, cashier’s check for down payment and closing costs. Check with your Signature Realtor prior to closing to inquire if there are any additional items specific to your home purchase that you need to bring. |
